Ingredients:
For the beef filling:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
500g (1 lb) ground beef
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons tomato paste
¼ cup water
For serving:
8 small taco shells or tortillas
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 cup chopped tomatoes
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup sour cream
½ cup salsa
Fresh cilantro (optional)
Lime wedges (optional)

Instructions:
Cook the beef:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until soft. Add garlic and cook another 30 seconds.
Brown the beef:
Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks (about 5–7 minutes).
Season the beef:
Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Add tomato paste and water:
Stir in tomato paste and water. Simmer for 5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.
Warm the taco shells:
Heat taco shells or tortillas according to package instructions.
Assemble tacos:
Spoon beef mixture into each shell. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, salsa, and any extra toppings you like.
