 Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 15 mins
Servings: 4 (8 tacos)

Ingredients:

For the beef filling:

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

500g (1 lb) ground beef

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon ground cumin

½ teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon dried oregano

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons tomato paste

¼ cup water

For serving:

8 small taco shells or tortillas

1 cup shredded lettuce

1 cup chopped tomatoes

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup sour cream

½ cup salsa

Fresh cilantro (optional)

Lime wedges (optional)

---------------------------------------------------------

Instructions:

Cook the beef:

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until soft. Add garlic and cook another 30 seconds.

Brown the beef:

Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks (about 5–7 minutes).

Season the beef:

Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Add tomato paste and water:

Stir in tomato paste and water. Simmer for 5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.

Warm the taco shells:

Heat taco shells or tortillas according to package instructions.

Assemble tacos:

Spoon beef mixture into each shell. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, salsa, and any extra toppings you like.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Tips:

Add avocado or guacamole for extra creaminess.

Use ground chicken or turkey as a leaner option.

Make it spicy with jalapeño slices or hot sauce!
