Total Time: 35 minutes

Creamy Garlic Chicken

Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tsp paprika (optional, for color)
2 tbsp olive oil
3 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
6 cloves garlic, minced (or more for stronger flavor)
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream (or cooking cream)
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp Italian seasoning (or mix of thyme, basil, oregano)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Season the Chicken:

Pat chicken dry with paper towels.
Season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.

2. Sear the Chicken:

Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add chicken and cook for 5–6 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through.
Transfer to a plate and keep warm.

3. Make the Garlic Sauce:

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium.
Add the remaining 2 tbsp butter and the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant (don’t burn the garlic).

4. Deglaze and Simmer:

Pour in chicken broth to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits that remain.
Let simmer for 2–3 minutes.

5. Add Cream and Cheese:

Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese.
Add Italian seasoning and simmer until the sauce thickens slightly (about 4–5 minutes).

6. Return Chicken to Pan:

Add the chicken back to the skillet.
Spoon the sauce over the chicken and simmer for an additional 2–3 minutes, until everything is heated through.

7. Garnish and Serve:

Sprinkle with chopped parsley.
Serve hot with mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta.

Tips

For extra richness, add a splash of white wine before the cream.
You can use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter version.
Add sautéed mushrooms or spinach for more texture.
