 Good Old-Fashioned Pancakes Recipe

Servings: 4 (makes about 8 pancakes)
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes

Good Old-Fashioned Pancakes

Ingredients:

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 ¼ cups milk
1 egg
3 tablespoons butter, melted
Butter or oil for cooking

Instructions:

1. Mix dry ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

2. Add wet ingredients:
Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg, and melted butter. Mix until smooth—do not overmix; some small lumps are fine.

3. Preheat griddle or pan:
Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat.

4. Cook the pancakes:
Pour about ¼ cup of batter per pancake onto the griddle. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and edges look set (about 2 minutes), then flip and cook the other side until golden brown (1–2 minutes more).

5. Serve warm:
Top with butter, maple syrup, fresh fruit, or your favorite toppings.

Tips:

For fluffier pancakes, let the batter rest for 5 minutes before cooking.
You can substitute half the milk with buttermilk for a tangy flavor.
Add blueberries, chocolate chips, or sliced bananas to the batter for variations.
