Ingredients:
12 oz (340g) fettuccine (or pasta of choice)
½ cup (115g) unsalted butter
1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
1½ cups (150g) freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano (or Parmesan cheese)
4 cloves garlic, minced
½ tsp salt (or to taste)
½ tsp black pepper
¼ tsp nutmeg (optional, for depth)
½ cup reserved pasta water
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Optional Add-Ins:
Grilled chicken, shrimp, or mushrooms
Steamed broccoli or spinach

Instructions:
1. Cook the Pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Cook the pasta al dente (1-2 minutes less than package instructions).
Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain the pasta.
2. Make the Alfredo Sauce:
In a large skillet or pan, melt butter over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant (don’t let it brown).
Pour in heavy cream, stirring constantly. Bring to a gentle simmer (do not boil).
Reduce heat to low and gradually whisk in Parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy.

3. Combine Pasta & Sauce:
Add the cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly.
If needed, add reserved pasta water (a little at a time) to loosen the sauce.
