Easy Chicken Parmesan Recipe
Here's a classic and easy Chicken Parmesan recipe that’s crispy, cheesy, and perfect for a comforting meal!
Ingredients:
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (sliced in half horizontally to make 4 cutlets)
1 cup breadcrumbs (Italian-style or plain with added Italian seasoning)
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten
2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Prepare Breading Stations:
Set up 3 shallow bowls:
Bowl 1: Flour + a pinch of salt and pepper.
Bowl 2: Beaten eggs.
Bowl 3: Breadcrumbs mixed with grated Parmesan.
Bowl 2: Beaten eggs.
Bowl 3: Breadcrumbs mixed with grated Parmesan.
Coat the Chicken:
Dredge each chicken cutlet in the flour, dip it in egg, then coat it in the breadcrumb-Parmesan mix. Press to adhere well.
Pan-Fry the Chicken:
Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
Cook chicken for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown (it won’t be fully cooked yet). Remove and set aside.
Assemble in Skillet or Baking Dish:
Spoon a layer of marinara sauce into the skillet or a baking dish.
Place the browned chicken on top.
Spoon more marinara over each cutlet and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
Bake:
Bake uncovered for 12-15 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through (165°F / 74°C internal temperature) and cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish & Serve:
Garnish with chopped parsley or basil.
Serve over spaghetti, with a salad, or garlic bread.
Tips:
To make it even easier, use pre-cooked frozen chicken cutlets and just bake with sauce and cheese.
For a low-carb version, use almond flour and skip the spaghetti.
